Illustration Friday - Voyage

Did this several months ago.  It was my first attempt at using Caran d'Ache Neocolors.  Much as I love watercolors, every effort to use them ends up in an epic fail for me.  So, I thought that perhaps I might have a little more luck trying the watercolor crayons (is it okay to call them that??) and using them dry instead of wet. Also -- I admit it -- I'm an art supply junkie and the concept of artist's crayons just sounded too good to pass up.  Had to try them.  I was also using acrylic paint and watercolor pencils so I managed to accidentally wet this piece in spots that I'd intended to keep dry and I ended up with lots of ugly splotches.  Oh well.  Somehow, I still had fun with this little piece and I'm posting it as a reminder to myself that it's good to experiment regardless of the results.

I think I created this picture for an Illustration prompt some time ago, but didn't complete it in time. I think that it might fit this week's prompt.

Illustration Friday: Robot

Here's a sketch for this week's Illustration Friday prompt.  I am enjoying just trying to complete a sketch rather than trying to finish the piece.  This week, I was slightly less lazy than I was last week and broke out the scanner instead of just using my camera phone!

Illustration Friday: Travel

Haven't posted anything for Illustration Friday for ages.  Since it's so hard for me to get an idea AND finish a piece in under a week, I decided that this week, my goal should just be completing a sketch and not a 'finish'.  So, I'm posting a horrible picture of my sketch that I took with my phone instead of scanning it, but...I have posted SOMETHING.  I might finish this at some point.  Not sure.

Haven't posted anything for Illustration Friday in months.  I'm not sure if this really solves the problem, but after seeing the prompt (wool) all I could think of was Mary and her lamb on the way to school.
